Enjoying fall

If there is anyone out there that knows me, they know I love to cook, but I am also one who battles weight issues. My co-workers and friends are normally the recipients of half of what I make. Not a bad deal.. I get to cook and my friends get to enjoy in one of my passions.

Fall brings a whole set of flavors and options that we forget about eight months of the year. When the temperature dips I look forward to a cup of steaming hot coco. One of the I dulgences I really enjoy and don't forget Marshmellows on top!! Hot coco and Starbucks pumpkin spice are two of my favorite things of fall.

Life is good :)

No real updates here to speak of. Fall is officialy here and with the cooler weather I know that Halloween can't be far behind and we then enter Holiday seasons that always fly by so fast.

We ended up at Kmart today and was greeted at the entrance by Christmas trees. While I really like Christmas, we wouldn't bother to put lights up if we didn't, but the last week of September and the trees are in stores? Even I had a ba humbug moment at the sight.

Stay tuned for more information (that is if anyone out there actually reads this) about this years light display. We have some really cools ideas, ones I think will really improve the display, but so much work to do!!

Anyone out there have suggestions fir us? We'd really like to hear from you!

Stay in school controversial?

I'm not at all sure why a speech urging students to Stay in school is controversial. I just don't understand what fears could possiably be found in this message.

Perhaps this fear is based on the thought that President Obama would use this moment addressing children to advance his political adjenda?

Are these same people afraid that the children would better understand this simple desire to take action to change the status quo? Perhaps even understanding his refusal to push our problems off to another generation, maybe even some those same children that he was addressing today? Our President releases his full speech before hand to counter all of these fears. Why is this even nessasary?

Why can't our nations leader address our children without his motives being questioned? Are we as a nation that jaded that bipartisanship cannot be found-- even in the nations schools?

Please tell me exactly just what has President Obama done to earn such distrust? After eight years if take it or leave it "Bush" politics, what is there to fear in a speech aimed toward children, attempts to motivate in our children to greater heights?

Happy Labor Day

It's been awhile since my last update and being its Labor Day Weekend I thought I'd post a real quick update.

Ended up relaxing at home on Saturday with nothing of real interest. David did get the media server running so we can now watch downloaded programs on the computer and stream them over the network to the TV in the livingroom or bedroom. Spent a big part of the watching season one of Top Gear. Not the horriably edited version they show on BBC America either. I don't know why I love this show so much as it's not at all flatteing to "septics" AKA Americans, but it's allot like a big brother teasing the little sister/brother, so it's all good fun.

I think I'm a closet gear head-- not the first time I'd ventured away from the "typical" girly activities-- but I think it would be sooooo much fun to drive a Bugati or Porshe 911.

Sunday we ventured up to Harvysburgh and the opening weekend of the Resesance Festival. We took in a few shows and jousting, walked, walked... and walked. Overall not much changed from last year so while we enjoyed ourselves, it just seemed a tad repetitive, so we bailed early and headed home.

Today we cooked out on the grill and played some Rockband... Looking forward to Beatles Rock Band on Wednesday. Should be fun!!

Guess that's about it. Back to work tomorrow... but at least it's a short week.
