Ever wonder why vacations always start and end the same way?? That is with loading up the car and heading off to your destination as quickly as possiable so you can get down to the "real" vacation.
That's how my recent treck to Owosso MI with my dad to a steam train festival started. Southern Pacific Daylight 4449 was to attend, along with many other train exibits that drew fans from MANY states around, so it was worth the trip.
It was a three hour trip to my folks house and another four hours to Owosso, so after the trip (and 14 hours of driving) I was totally bushed, only to get some rest and head to the inlaws six hours south in Crossville, TN.
I now have a few days to enjoy a somewhat slower life here in the South and recharge the ole batteries.
Ain't life grand?
